Description: The Everglades Our group project is based on our lovely Florida Everglades. The animals we used have been badly affected by human activity but have managed to bounce back. All of our Fauna are carnivores and include the Florida Alligator, the Barred Owl, and the Eastern Indigo Snake. These carnivores help to regulate other animal populations. The Flora we used is the Beauty Berry, which is used in traditional medicine and is a good food source for birds. Human activity affects these organisms through vehicle collisions (Barred Owl), reckless hunting (Indigo Snake), and hunting for their skin (Alligator). To keep these populations alive, you can provide nesting boxes and bird baths for the Barred Owl, support hunting regulations for the Indigo Snake to keep it from being endangered again and provide patrols for the Alligator.
