Description: Florida’s Natural Beaches & Bogs We chose to include the flora and fauna that we did to spotlight and recognize them in their native habitat. This fauna in this artwork includes and American Alligator, Blue Crab, Spoonbill Bird, Bottlenose Dolphin, Leatherback Turtle, and Cottonmouth Snake. The flora that was included are cabbage palm trees, cypress trees, and cocomut palms. The florida native flora and fauna that we chose to incorporate into our project is very important to the natural ecosystem of Florida. For example, the blue crab helps clean the bottom of the sea by harvesting decomposing plant and animal matter. Animals like the spoonbill and bottlenose dolphin keep the food chain balanced to protect Florida from overpopulation. An example of how human activity affects the flora and fauna of Florida is how the leatherback turtle population has been dying down due to things like water and light pollution, baby turtles can’t find the ocean due to man made light. Things like deforestation also affect the flora and fauna of Florida, Some actions that we can take to increase the habitat of Florida’s flora and fauna are cutting down less trees and not hunting endangered species Jaxson Jones, Leila Misa’alefua, Caleb Williams Rampello K-8 Middle School
