Description: The Miami Blue Butterfly Our project showcased the Miami Blue Butterfly, an important and dwindling member of the ecosystem. The Miami Blue’s host plant and main food source is the Florida Keys blackbead. The Miami Blues are pollinators, who also serve as the first course in the food chain. This butterfly is sadly endangered due to urban development, but scientists are tying to help them by monitoring and breeding them and setting up mesh enclosures to protect them. We hope that through the help of scientist they will be er-established into the wild. Sofia Zornitta & Carmen McRae, grade 7 Rampello K-8 Middle School
