Description: Below the Sea:  Our project focused on the deep ocean, animals of the sea, and recycled materials. We used a box as the main structure of our project. We painted the inside blue, white, and black so it looked like it was going from the ocean to the deep ocean. We painted the outside to look like sand and we drew things you could find on or near the beach.  We had a jellyfish as the focal point because we were inspired by a work of art that also used a jellyfish, and we really think they are cool animals. We made the jellyfish by planning it out, cutting out two shapes from boxes, putting them together with cardboard strips for a frame, and covering it with fabric. The other animals were made by looking up different ocean animals, then drawing out the animals we liked on cardboard, cutting them out, painting them, and outlining them with sharpies. We placed them in the artwork based on where they live in the ocean. Deep sea animals are lower because that’s where they live. This project has made us think about the sea and the creatures that live there. We learned more about how they and their homes look. We feel amazing about using recycled materials because we know that what we used will stay out of the environment.
