Description: Blumi:  Hi, I'm Arianna Ross, I'm an 8th grader at Progress Village Middle Magnet School and I made a waterfall for my armature. I named it "Blumi" because Umi in Japanese means sea and the water is blue. One thing I didn't realize though is that cutting cardboard is harder than I thought. You would have to use sharp scissors to cut the cardboard because of how firm it is. I also think cutting fabric with regular scissors is tricky too depending on the fabric. To hold up the fabric waterfall, I used a straw with more fabric to cover it up. This makes the waterfall look like it's floating. Another tricky thing was gluing fabric to the straw. I had to fold some of the fabric and trim it to glue it. For the border, I used strips of paper to make rocks. The process was really slow, but it was worth it in the end. The rocks makes it look more unified and gives the water more shape. Next to the waterfall, I put in a shark character that I named Finn. At first, she wasn't standing up, so I glued an additional piece of paper to the back to help. In front of the waterfall, I used hot glue imitate the water from the waterfall merging with the water from the lake below. I also used hot glue to make lines to imitate water movement in the lake.
