Description: The Silver Submarine: My name is Andrew Crawford, and I am an 8th grader at Progress Village Middle Magnet School of the Arts. Being tasked with creating a water themed sculpture, I was reminded of a submarine prototype I created a few summers ago. I decided to use a 2-liter soda bottle to create the submarine and added actual water into my sculpture, “The Silver Submarine”. I figured it would be best if the fabric element was the waves and the ocean seafloor. The seafloor looks bare without the coral, because there is nothing that really pops. Typically submarines try and keep water out, but this one sunk upwards. How ironic! This shows it is not very realistic, along with the fact that the coral is on top of the ocean. Water sometimes brings the unexpected.
