Welcome to the 2026 DooDad Sculpture Competition!

The competition portion of the 2025 Repurposed DooDad Sculpture Competition has officially concluded, and we are incredibly grateful to the students, teachers, families, and schools who brought this year’s theme to life with such imagination and ingenuity.

From inventive uses of obsolete objects to thoughtful interpretations of “Florida, Flying into the Future,” the sculptures submitted this year demonstrated the creativity, humor, and environmental awareness that make the DooDad Competition so special.

Judging and People’s Choice Voting has completed! 🎉

While the judging is complete, the celebration continues! Many of this year’s sculptures are now being featured in exhibitions throughout the Tampa Bay area.  

Thank you to every student artist who participated and to the educators who encouraged their creativity!

Description: FLY INTO THE FUTURE WITH A FLORIDA HERO!: Mosquitoes Beware! Bats are in the air! Bats are the only mammals that can fly. This is a futuristic bat that I made out of an obsolete keyboard and computer. In the future Florida will be hotter, and that means more mosquitoes. My bat has all the characteristics that make bats special such as echo location, wings with the same bones as my arm, the ability to pollinate plants, spread seeds and hunt mosquitoes PLUS MORE. The bat of the future, has a tough skin with sharp pointy parts. These points have venom in them! This protects my bat from predators. It has dangling, bouncy strings that produce light from its head and its tail. I used glow-in-the-dark glue so it really does glow in the dark!  It uses this light to attract prey, especially mosquitoes.  Bats are Florida's natural defense against mosquitoes.
