Welcome to the 2026 DooDad Sculpture Competition!

The competition portion of the 2025 Repurposed DooDad Sculpture Competition has officially concluded, and we are incredibly grateful to the students, teachers, families, and schools who brought this year’s theme to life with such imagination and ingenuity.

From inventive uses of obsolete objects to thoughtful interpretations of “Florida, Flying into the Future,” the sculptures submitted this year demonstrated the creativity, humor, and environmental awareness that make the DooDad Competition so special.

Judging and People’s Choice Voting has completed! 🎉

While the judging is complete, the celebration continues! Many of this year’s sculptures are now being featured in exhibitions throughout the Tampa Bay area.  

Thank you to every student artist who participated and to the educators who encouraged their creativity!

Description: Floridan Blue: This piece is called Floridan Blue. This artwork ties to the future with its wings, because it's a flying car, which is often used in science fiction taking place in the future. The Floridan theme is displayed with its surfboard and palm tree in the truck bed, I used multiple materials for this piece, such as cardboard, motherboard pieces, airdry clay, feathers, and soda tabs. The character featured is my original character inspired by a craft I purchased called BuleFace. He sits in a flatbed truck-inspired car, with a gold green and blue surfboard, a pair of mismatched diving fins, and a simple palm tree. I used a main hue of blue because Florida has a lot of beaches. The car has a dual meaning: traffic is a big obstacle in Florida due to a high population in a small area, as well as representing how some individuals use driving as a method of escapism.
